The latest thing I’ve cooked had to have been my most favorite meal on the Big Green Egg. Imagine a beautiful, tender pork loin smoked for a few hours with a nice thick smoke ring. Well that’s just the result I got the other night. Notice I say “I” because my wonderful husband “encourages” me to get out there and grill since I’m a “super griller chick” – and I’m like “NO Honey, we are the super griller GIRLS not chicks.” Anyway…..
I started out by coating it with some Season All and salt and pepper. I added the meat to a cast iron skillet with a bit of water to keep it moist. Meanwhile I was working on getting the temperature up to about 275 – 300° out on the grill. It seems that is just a great temperature to use for most of the things I’ve cooked. Once the temperature was up there, I added the meat and cooked it for a few hours indirect using the plate setter. That’s one of the things I love about the Big Green Egg….it’s SOOOO easy to use. You just set your temperature and go! You don’t have to keep going out and check on it. In fact, your actually not supposed to go out and check on it. This was just too good not to post. By the way, Buzz and Jessie thought it was pretty good too! There’s no telling what you will find on my counters with four kids!
We’d love to hear from you….Let us know if you have any grilling tricks or recipes. Happy Grilling!
